Gyanjyoti Academy, established under the aegis of Gyanadini Memorial Trust, was started in the year 2013. The school was started with only a few classrooms and only 9 students and 3 teachers in a small premises in Indirapally, Shivmandir.

The then Principal of the school was Mrs. Moumita Chatterjee.In the early days, the journey of Gyanjyoti Academy was very difficult, but slowly, the school started growing and only in four years’ time, from 2013 to 2016, the student strength touched 100. As the school started growing, the school was shifted to a large premise in Bidhanpally, Shivmandir. Along with the growing student strength, new teachers also joined the school, to maintain a healthy teacher-student ratio. All was going good until 2020, when the world was hit by the corona pandemic. We had to shift to the online system of education which was completely new to us, and education was largely affected in the period of these two years. Many of the students also left school during this period.  In 2022, when the world was corona free, we again opened doors for all the students, and again we started to grow. As on date, the student strength is 300 and there are total 19 teaching and non-teaching staff.

We have been able to make a mark in the hearts of the people of Shivmandir, becoming the pioneers in providing quality education to children at the bare minimum cost.
